Baseball
EBYAA’s recreational baseball program is open to players aged 5 to 14 years of age. The 5/6, 7, & 8 year old division are coach pitch, while 9/10, 11/12, & 13/14 are kid pitch. Children must participate in their age specific division. The age group determination cut-off date is April 30 of the current year. In other words, however old your child is on
5/1, that is the age group he must play in. Participants may play up a division, but may not play down.
Ex: A child who celebrates his 9th birthday on or before April 30th,
he must
play in the 9/10 year old division. See chart.

The baseball program is sanctioned under Dizzy Dean Baseball, Inc. (www.tndizzydeanbaseball.com). Once coaches are selected, players are then drafted. Because one of our goals is parity amongst the teams, special requests will not be honored.
Spring teams are drafted in early March (ages 5-12) and practices begin shortly thereafter. The season begins in early April and concludes in late May. Teams play a schedule of approximately 18-24 games. Games are scheduled to be played every day with the exception of Weds. & Sun. Teams
typically play no more than 2 games per week. Weekday games begin at 6:00 & 7:30 PM, while weekend games can begin as early as 9:00 AM. EBYAA provides a shirt, cap, & socks. Players/parents are to provide a glove, helmet, bat, cleats, & pants. It is best to wait until you are contacted by the coach before purchasing pants. These items may be purchased at any local retailer.
The
13/14 year old division does not begin play until late May after the
conclusion of the middle school baseball season. You may, however,
sign your child up for 13/14 year old play during our open
registration beginning in late January (check our home
page for exact dates & times). You may also obtain a
registration form from the concession stand during the months of April
& early May. This division will play approximately half of their
games at East Brainerd, while the other half will be played at other
parks around Hamilton County. During the 2008 season, Ooltewah,
Snowhill, & Lakeside participated in this inter-league play.
