Football

In 2009, EBYAA kicked off its first year as a member of the Scenic City Youth Football League. The youth football program is open to players 5 to 12 years of age. Children must participate in their age specific division. The age group determination cut-off date is April 30 of the current year. In other words, your child's age on 4/30 is the age group he must play in. Participants may play up a division, but may not play down.

Ex: A child who celebrates his 9th birthday on or before April 30th will play in the 9 year old division. See chart.

Teams are drafted in early August, and practices begin shortly thereafter. The season begins with a Jamboree at the end of August and ends with a Super Bowl in mid-November. Teams play a schedule of approximately 8-10 games against other SCYFL members. Games are scheduled to be played every Saturday at various locations, with the possibility of some games being played during the week. The league will try to maintain a north and south division so travel will be limited. Each team should expect to have approximately 3 home games. Other members of the Scenic City League include:

With football registration, EBYAA provides a football jersey, pants, socks, insurance, and helmet decals. Parents are to provide cleats, football pads, a football helmet, & a colored mouthpiece that attaches to the facemask. These items may be purchased at any local retailer. 

Scenic City mandates each home team charge an admission fee of $3.00 ($2.00 for seniors) to all persons age 13 and up. The proceeds from the admission fee will be used to pay the referees for the game.
