Softball

The softball program at EBYAA offers recreational softball play for ages 5 thru 12 and, if there is enough interest, a 13/14 division. The softball divisions are as follows: 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, & if necessary, 13/14. The age group determination cut-off date is December 31st of the previous year. However old your child is on 12/31 of the previous year is the age group she must participate in. EBYAA provides a shirt and visor for softball. Parents/guardians are to provide socks, cleats, glove, helmet, bat, and if necessary, shin pads. These items are available for purchase at local retailer.

At the conclusion of the registration period, which is at the end of February, coaches are selected by the softball commissioner. Coaches then meet to conduct a draft in early March. The season begins in early April and concludes around Memorial Day. Practices are left up to the discretion of the individual coaches. Some teams may practice more than others. With the exception of the first couple of practice times, which are typically assigned at the draft and based on availability, the association has no control over the amount practice time a coach chooses. We will attempt to create a schedule of approximately 18 to 20 games.

Games will be held every day of the week with the exception of Weds. & Sun. Weekday games will begin at 6 & 7:30 PM while Saturday games can begin as early as 9:00 AM. Teams will typically not play more than 2 games per week.
